I first met Evan when he was a groomsman in a wedding I was photographing. I was excited to hear from him and Becky once they were engaged because he was such a fun person to be around and I knew I would enjoy working with them. We met for a coffee, back when we could still do that (this wedding is from 2019), and we chatted about the back yard wedding they were planning and they asked me to be their Edmonton acreage wedding photographer.
Becky got ready at her parents home. The beauty team of Yeg Adorn and Elysian Artistry did an amazing job of making the ladies look extra special. Becky’s parents backyard is where they had their “first look”. I love that Becky always envisioned Evan seeing her for the first time, on the hill in the backyard. It really was a special moment.
After some photos at Elk Island Park we headed to Becky and Evan’s home where they were married in their back yard. It was a romantic ceremony and many tears were shed.
When we initially met for coffee, the two of them had one request. They wanted me to head up in a bucket truck to get a group photo of the 300+ guests. I’m deathly afraid of heights but I will do anything for my clients. It was definitely a bad day to wear a dress.
After a delicious meal catered by Pig Out Promotions. The dance party was a hit and Dan at Baseline did an amazing job keeping the dance floor packed.
We finished the evening by sneaking out at sunset to capture a few more photos… they may be some of my favourites from the entire day.
I’m thankful for couples like Becky + Evan who not only trust me to capture their day but are willing to share their love and connection and that really makes for the best day.
Here are a few of my favourites from their Edmonton acreage wedding.
